We had an amazingly successful mission to La Entrada, Honduras, in September. Our team of 40 staff of dedicated doctors, nurses and volunteers, served over 1,000 patients! Over 100 operations were performed, as well a 6 babies delivered, 60+ pregnancy ultrasounds, 180 cervical cancer screenings, 750+ patients seen in remote areas, and wonderful educational experiences teaching neonatology and obstetrical care algorithms to local doctors and nurses. In addition, we brought 6 resident physicians from Jefferson Abington Hospital to provide care, an also to ensure the education is bilateral.
We have our February 2025 mission in the works, with a slightly smaller team of 28 for a quick turnaround due to needs on the group, and strong desire of the team members to get back as soon as feasible.
The Blue Sky Team of 40 is preparing for our next mission to Honduras in March 2026.
